A terrifyingly powerful clan existed within Kumogakure. It stood to be known as one of the greatest clans within Kumogakure. They defeated clan after clan and shown itself victorious in all battles until even a lot of the other great clans did not want to fight them. From the lowest of the low, they rose and soon they sat upon the top of nations. The clan all stemmed from one man in the demon country, Oni no Kuni, a man that was known as Asura Yuumei…or to others that feared him, Asura Kishin. It was from him alone, that the Yuumei clan rose to what it is now. Asura Yuumei was hated, feared and out casted as a child. People held on to their superstitions too much at the time and felt that to allow a being with a third eye to live amongst them, is to allow a curse to uphold the entire village. It was a terribly misunderstood era in which he was born . . . an era where people feared all those different and felt the need to exterminate that fear. If it weren’t for his survival such a clan as noble as the Yuumei would not exist. The Yuumei Clan started within the land of demons, but Kumogakure, seeing their potential, decided to adopt the Yuumei Clan within their village. Ever since then, the rise of the Yuumei Clan’s status began. Being part of a major village, it became more active with the rest of the world and more known. Until soon, its name was engraved into the minds of every shinobi that lived during its era.
What sets the Yuumei Clan apart from the rest however, was its doujutsu , a doujutsu known as the Keigan, a third eye that rests on their forehead. The eye at first, when un-open, looks like it’s just a scar on their forehead, but after their awakening of the eye, it can become apparent that they have the Keigan. The third eye had 4 known stages to them, Suimin (first stage), Mezame (second) Okosa (third) and the rarely seen Chuui (fourth and legendary stage). The Keigan grants the users a release known as Kekkei release; Barrier Release. It allows them to create barriers around a certain target based on where the Keigan eye looks at. As the levels advance, their skills with barriers also advance, allowing them to perform a variety of things with the barriers with each stage. However, barriers and Keigan weren’t the only thing that the Yuumei clan was known for. They also had heightened thinking, and many of the Yuumei tended to be really smart, thus excelling at military tactics. Along with heightened senses they had great chakra/body, and Taijutsu control, which they applied to their Kenjutsu skills. Their body and chakra control was up to the point where they can perform one handed handsigns and manipulate their chakra flow fairly easy, allowing them to waste lesser amounts of chakra within jutsu, learn nature (~affinity, just so no confusions) control easier, and form manipulation. When it came to Jutsu knowledge, they were so skilled in Kekkei ninjutsu and time and space ninjutsu, that they became known for it. All in all, it seemed as if it was the perfect clan. However, as greatly as they proved themselves in battle, once the second Great War began, they began to dwindle. The clan became just a bit more weakened from the war. They lost a lot of members despite being a major factor in the war’s success, and that damaged the clan’s overall power. They began to be less respected, but not by much, they just didn’t hold their former. But the Yuumei Clan would not allow such a blow to their reputation for they were a noble clan and thought themselves to be only amongst the highest of the top. Oh how their views would change by the time they realize the path that awaited to their restoration.

“….You were chosen to carry this burden…the moment you were born…”
A child was born on the fourteenth day of the seventh moon. That day was a memorable event for almost anyone in the Yuumei clan. Word buzzed around of the child’s birth like bees until soon, everyone within Kumogakure heard of him. The moon was flaring brightly and almost looked tainted yellow, a harvest moon. On that same night was when the Legend was born, a child of the Yuumei clan with golden eyes. The thing that marked importance of his birth however, was the fact that he was born with his Keigan eye on the third stage. It was unheard of to have a baby born with his eye opened to the Okosa (third) stage. The Keigan eye usually activates its first stage while children are in Academy school, or at gennin age. The second stage then activates somewhere around their chuunin age. The Okosa stage activates at those around the Jounin age most of the time. Though there had been cases of the eye opening at earlier stages than usual because of skill, it has never been seen to be open to a newborn child. So when they heard of the baby with the Okosa stage, they immediately made references of him to Asura Yuumei. Asura Yuumei, or Kishin, who was the founder of the clan, was born with his eye fully open- In fact some of the Yuumei members believed that Asura was born with his eye at a mythical stage they called Shiryoku. Shiryoku was a stage that was believed only Asura had, but others waved it away as an over-exaggeration of the fourth stage- Chuui. The golden eyed child was then given a name that suited him; he was called Jin which stood for golden, or pure, a reference to his eyes. Jin Yuumei was considered a prodigy since birth and the clan held great expectations from him even from the moment he tried taking his first steps. Sadly… a child cannot bear the burden of a thousand expectations and expect to live up to all of them. The events that would transpire would devastate many of the Yuumei clan and shatter those high hopes that were left for him.
Jin was born with one twin brother only an hour apart. The two of them were the best of Kin and always trained together and practiced ninjutsu, sharing jokes, and acting like kids. At first the feeling wasn’t noticeable, but soon enough after the age of 5 it became apparent that the two were treated differently. Jin Yuumei was always regarded more than his brother, people always held higher expectations for him instead of allowing him to act like the child he was at the time. When Jin and Asura were fighting a crowd would always gather watching the two of them in their combat, but even then Jin knew that they were really watching him. They were anticipating his movements seeing how he would do things and it always pushed him to prove himself to the two, the end result of course would always be ending in his victory, but rest of the clan would leave disappointed by what they thought they would see. The fight was always a simple fail of a fight between two children, besides the fact that Jin could use his barriers at the time.
At first he didn’t pay much attention to it, but soon he began to notice that they treated him slightly different than they did his brother. They never regarded his brother as much as they did to him, they never held such high expectations for his brother, and they never worked his brother as hard as they did to him…
“Come, you have to try harder Jin...” His father called to him issuing a challenge to the panting Jin that stood kneeling on the floor from the exhaustion. He had fought his father for the past hour now, and his father constantly jeered at him to try harder at his attacks. He was terribly tired and found himself unable to get back on his feet. “…n-no, I’m exhausted” he replied panting, but to that a barrier would be formed under him by his father and it forced him to jump forward in order to avoid it. His brother, Asura had been training with them earlier also, but he was excused from training the moment he began to tire. “C’mon! A shinobi won’t give you time to rest in a real fight!” His father said as he dashed at Jin drawing out his sword. Being currently too tired to react at the time, Jin would waste terrible amounts of energy jumping upwards to the sky, as he did this he began to use the Yuumei clan’s ‘Heaven Steps Technique’ creating barriers underneath his feet in rapid succession to keep himself standing in the air and moving easily in the air. However, it was terribly weak and small at this point and was just a simple tiny cube that he could barely fit one foot onto. He managed to stay up on the barrier for just a bit before his father knocked him down on his weak attempt to create a second barrier and he hit his head hard during his falling. As he got up to see his father’s position now, he couldn’t see too well, everything was blurry and before he realized it, it was already too late. By the time his gaze was able to focus on his father, his father would have already been directly in front of him with enough space to do a push that had enough force to send him flying back and unconscious.
That night, his father, Kagayaku only told him “You have a lot to work on…” and left after the spar. He congratulated his Asura, but not even two words of praise for the effort he put in. His training was extensive, he would constantly have sparring sessions with his brother, and if not, it would be the two of them against his father. Always however, his brother was dismissed early and allowed time to relax, which he constantly gloated to Jin about. “Nya~ Jin, I don’t have to work as hard as you” he jeered every time Jin came back from the sparring session. Of course, the end result always ended up with Jin choking his brother, then the two of them getting into fights.
The next day, the second training session began with the two of them against his father yet again. Jin hadn’t recovered completely, but he was well ready enough to challenge his father yet a second time. As the first of the fight began, Jin dashed completely straight forward at his dad, a headfirst dash – never a good idea. He got hurled back across the training ground, but when he did so, Asura disappeared. A huge smoke cloud covered the distance where he got blasted to, and Jin had his eye open on the first stage only, something he often did. The third stage proved too much chakra for him, and he had yet to learn chakra control so it always left him nauseating when using it so he mostly used the first stage. As his dad scanned the room for where his brother was, Jin yet again dashed full on towards his Kagayaku, but Kaga simply got into a stance waiting to take the full brunt of the force and pick him up to again, toss him back to where he headed from. But just as he did this, Asura, who was hidden in a barrier made by jin, appeared from behind Kaga with a kick right at the back of the neck, hoping to do maximum damage that he can. Kaga of course saw this coming and with ease, blocked the kick. That left all the opening Jin needed, he sent an uppercut straight to his father’s Chin sending him back just by a bit. The punch didn’t affect him as much as Jin had hoped, but that was only expected from a child. As his father stood there he seemed kind of dazed for a second and jin decided this would be a good time as any to launch
another set of attacks or capture him within a barrier, sadly, much to his demise, the figure he had hit turned out to be not but a substitution. A log section stood in the place his father once was, and cursing he knew that his father could come out of any direction at the time. Seeing this, he created a barrier around both him and Asura. They looked around for any sign of where he could appear, safely hidden within the barrier they made, but couldn’t see him at all anywhere. Jin then took down the barrier, stood back to back with Asura to keep track of any movement. It was almost too scary once they heard his father say “Wrong move…Tsk” as they both looked up, it seemed Kaga had set a barrier around his substituted location and had been waiting above them the entire time. As he said this, the barrier his father stood upon, dropped down and both Jin and Asura leaped forward. As the barrier hit the ground, it left a huge crack upon the ground, he had it come down with such force it could easily crush bone. “this is unreal….he’s taking this seriously” Jin thought as he leapt just out of range of the barrier. As he hit the floor, he was sent rolling forward before finally skidding and stopping himself. His brother did the same thing. Jin openly challenged his father to a battle of skies. He jumped up using the heaven’s steps technique and continued the rapid motion as he ascended into the air. His father followed after him, as his father was going for his next dive, Jin tried to counter it by diving head first at him and knocking him out of the air before he reached his next barrier to that which his father simply created a barrier in between the two of them, causing him to collide head first with the barrier and knocking him to the floor. As he was falling he heard the words “Barrier release; Suimin” as he said that a barrier appeared around him. Judging by the words spoken and the way he could clearly see through the barrier, it was already decided that it wasn’t the average Keigan technique, but an actual jutsu. His father rarely used jutsu in their spars because he claimed it would be too easy to defeat the both of them, but when he did, it meant trouble. The barrier ninjutsu was a jutsu that has a huge amount of gravity which forces the persons trapped within to be pushed to the bottom at an unbearable amount. He only lasted a few seconds before passing out from the force of the barrier. After that everything went black.
His brother was spared the brutal training every time and the effects began to show on Jin as months progressed.
Every evening after their training sessions they would have Kenjutsu practice, swinging a sword a thousand times. They were each given wooden swords and had to swing it multiple times with motions that were to be swift…but not aggressive. He always emphasized that the blade should not be swung with anger, but rather kindness and the motion should be as smooth as wind. This type of technique, allows it to follow through with its path and not force its way past the wind…instead, swing freely with the wind. In the end, it results in such a swift motion and cut, that it cuts cleanly through its targets as if it had never collided with something to begin with. A thousand swings, chopping at a piece of wood until it is reduced to its last stump was the average training they did. However, even in this, he had to try more. After his both he and his brother had finished 1000 swings, he would have Jin do 3000 more.
“Asura, you may go ahead and eat. Jin! Continue on with your study, finish the book on Takezo, and write down the name and procedure of his techniques.” His father said, yet again excusing Asura early. “…Yes father” Jin said, masking the anger he held within by an apathetic voice. His father had quizzed both of them on their history books, and every time he would have to read again and again, rewriting the poems of the old, and taking notes on the techniques. Once his father left, Jin clutched onto his brush. Anger seared through his very being and he repeated in his head over and over “why me?” he looked at the brush “every time…it’s always me. Am I doing something wrong? There must be. I’ve never gotten even a hint of approval…every time- I’m not as good as Asura.” He opened the book on Takezo, so far he had only read the first chapter and it only served to bore him. They talked about how he was born of a poor family, Takezo’s father barely making enough as a shinobi to provide for his family. The story had yet to even introduce Takezo. He couldn’t possibly begin to read the first few chapters so he skipped ahead, stopping at chapter 5. It seemed that page 5 was where it was the most interesting
” The child Takezo since the moment of he was 3 years old, was proven to be a prodigy. He spent his times only training and training…something kids his age would never even comprehend to do. He always seemed to be curious of techniques, specifically jutsu, done by the elders he had seen. Even before he joined the academy he started to learn extensive knowledge on chakra control and practiced the basic jutsu taught in the academy. By the time he got into the academy, he was able to skip it altogether due to his purely evident skill over the rest of his peers. After his ascension into gennin, he disappeared for a year. No-one knew what happened to him during that year, he simply disappeared. Mitsuo, being clan lord at the time, sent 2 shouheki to search for him. They came back to no avail a month later. People began to assume that Takezo had been abducted or had died, and a funeral was set up for him. 2 months thereafter, once an entire year had passed from his ‘supposed’ death, an unfamiliar chakra penetrated the Yuumei barrier around the village. The shouheki ranks were on the scene immediately and they awaited thinking it had been different man. Though, once they arrived at the gate, the man that they saw was very much familiar. The white ponytail tied with a red band he wore still, and his clothes were tattered from abuse, but no doubt he was the same child they had thought died a year ago. The sight stunned them, though he got a bit taller, he looked almost exactly as he did when he had disappeared. Mitsuo proposed a test on the lad before revealing his identity to the rest of the clan, because of course, he had to be sure it was not a fake made by the enemy that might have killed him. Sure enough, his memories were still intact and his Keigan was activated to the Okosa stage. – something which cannot be replicated unless ripping out the eye, and even then, they could not have it open to a stage it was never at before. They came to the conclusion it was Takezo and the clan had found out that he was still living. His mother and father, who were still grieving his loss, were stunned. They embraced him and treated him as if he was the only thing they had to care about. When asked what happened to him he simply responded ~Training~. He spent an entire year doing nothing but training, drinking water and eating only when he needed to replenish his strength. He proved himself over and over against the inhabitants of the wilderness, even defeating rogue shinobi. When he was training, he left with 6 books, each being detailed descriptions on the elements, yin-yang, chakra control, and swordsmanship. He developed plenty of techniques based on his study and thought alone. When he was not practicing ninjutsu and chakra control, he was practicing Taijutsu and swordsmanship. So that he literally exhausted his physical energy along with spiritual, constantly building onto his chakra and physical capabilities. When he was exhausted he would eat, and meditate himself to sleep, only to continue the same thing the next day. A lot of times he did pass out when he first started such a training method, but after the first 3 months, he became used to it. He was able to hold onto his strength for much longer and by the time the year had completed, he had devised 50 techniques, and had 70 he was still thinking of. All of his ideas, he recorded within a scroll so that he may never forget his progress on jutsu he was learning. It was but a short few weeks until he showed his improved capabilities in battle. He was able to take even gennin within the village. The results astonished people, and they truly knew he was gifted beyond any shinobi they had seen.
A month after his return, after his return, he continued to be rarely seen amongst people and others of the clan. He only continued to train. There was very few that he could fight and actually enjoy. Most of the time, they ended up being shouheki- for they were the only ones powerful enough to provide actual experience. To other people, the events of Takezo’s daily life as he grew seemed almost un-real. A devotion to fighting that badly was something that has never been seen in others before and the stronger he got, the more he wanted to fight. A lot of times one can hear his clashes from a long time away. When he finished his sparring warm-ups, he recounted all that he could learn during the fight and practices what he needed to work on. He continued writing techniques, be it barrier- or lightning, or wind, water, fire and earth. Though he could not do all five elements, he understood it enough to theorize techniques for when he learns all five.
